Citymoves is a Scottish Arts Council foundation funded organisation that organises Dancelive!

Introduction

DanceLive! is Aberdeen's Autumn dance festival bringing a selection of new contemporary dance performances, classes and workshops to venues across the city including new work from Scottish Ballet , Gilmore Productions and Tabula Rasa Dance Company.

For 2008 there will be two special music/dance collaborations run in partnership with the SOUND festival: Janis Claxton Dance joins with the internationally acclaimed Edinburgh Quartet for Falling Light, while the Scottish Flute Trio and Curve Foundation Dance come together in a new show FEAT.

Workshops

Running alongside the performances is a programme of classes and workshops for all ages including:

  • Scottish Ballet masterclass (Wednesday 8th October)
  • Seniors in the City & Scottish Ballet: Special Event for 50+ (Friday 10th October)
  • Outside In - Scottish Ballet (Saturday 11th October)
  • Tango Fusion - Ani Tchakmakdjin & Martin Espindola (Wednesday 15th October)
  • Body Sensing - Three Legs (Saturday 18th October)
  • Body Beat - Very Red (Saturday 18th October)
  • Janis Claxton Dance - Open Company Class (Tuesday 21st October)
  • Tabula Rasa Dance Company - Bzzzzz [Children's Dance Workshop] (Monday 27th October)
