Scotland's International Festival of Live Art
The National Review of Live Art & New Territories
Takes place in venues across Glasgow 2 - 21 March 2010
The 30th Anniversary of The National Review of Live Art, 17 - 21 March
The 2010 NRLA programme marks the 30th Anniversary of the national Live Art festival.
It features more than 100 artists who have played a part in the festival's thirty-year history including: Alastair MacLennan, Forced Entertainment, Ian Smith, Iona Kewney, Julia Bardsley & Andrew Poppy, Kira O'Reilly, Guillermo Gomez Pena, La Ribot, Lee Wen, Lei Cox, Michael Mayhew, Neil Bartlett, Ron Athey and Stelarc. |
Since the 1970s the NRLA has offered a unique festival focus for the live art community, combining work by established practitioners – from the Kipper Kids and Derek Jarman to Ron Athey and Franko B – while introducing many new artists to a national and international audience for the first time including DV8 and Forced Entertainment. |
The Festival’s longevity and success led to Artistic Director Nikki Milican’s award of an OBE in the 2009 New Year’s Honours List for 'services to performance art.'
In addition to the NRLA, the new territories main stage programme presents UK premieres of work by Australian artist Fleur Elise Noble, Slovenia’s new hit company Via Negativa and Hiroaki Umeda from Japan. A Vocal Sonics programme features Simon Thorne Music (UK) and Melanie Pappenheim with Rebecca Askew (UK). |
