Romeo and Juliet is perhaps the most famous of Shakepeare's tragedies, and is a play that lends itself particularly well to the ballet.
The stylish designs and costumes that have become so familiar with Scottish Ballet's productions are used to great effect in Romeo and Juliet. The tale begins in the 1930s, moving into the optimistic post-war 1950s, finally climaxing at the end of the twentieth century, in the 1990s.
Romeo and Juliet, the star-crossed lovers, are caught up in the explosion of the times, victims of the never-ending curse that comes with hatred and strife. |
Don't miss the opportunity to experience this universal and timeless tragedy - society standing in the way of true love - steeped in Scottish Ballet's inimitable dramatic style.
