During September the internationally acclaimed trombonist/composer John Kenny was invited by Deveron Arts to spend a short residency in Huntly with sound designer Chris Wheeler. Together, Kenny and Wheeler created a highly unusual piece of music: Doric. This is an electroacoustic sound-poem, created out of sounds and images of both the natural and man-made environment of the town of Huntly, with specific reference to the sounds of the Doric speech.
During their residency in Huntly, Kenny and Wheeler met and worked with Jim and Caro Brooks, internationally acclaimed musicians who live locally.
The work was performed as part of the Halloween in Huntly festival on Sunday 31 October in the Stewarts Hall.

- To involve young fiddlers from the Huntly area in the project through workshops and an informal performance programme.
