Having had several monikers, The Scottish Music Centre officially launched under its current name in 2003. The centre was set up in Glasgow to provide help and assistance to anyone who is interested in receiving music related information. |

The SMC houses a vast archive of nearly 30 000 musical items, with anything from copies of 18th Century song-sheets to the latest CD releases from traditional, rock, jazz and indie bands.

Visitors to the Centre can also access computers with a range of music software, browse music publications and magazines and receive advice from a team of experts about music created, performed or recorded in Scotland. |
