Dundee Contemporary Arts & The Fruitmarket Gallery

For the first time, two of Scotland's major public contemporary art spaces are collaborating to produce an exhibition of the finest international contemporary art. Somewhere Everywhere Nowhere is being presented simultaneously by Dundee Contemporary Arts and The Fruitmarket Gallery.

Dundee Contemporary Arts

Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA) is an internationally renowned centre for contemporary arts, as well as being a vibrant and popular social and cultural meeting place. It attracts in excess of 300,000 visitors a year and stimulates the cultural, social and economic regeneration of the city that is its home.

Facilities at DCA include:

  • five floors of galleries
  • cinemas that host film festivals, gala eventing and special events
  • artists facilities, including a Visual Research Centre
  • a Cafe Bar

With an exciting education programme, DCA actively seeks the widest possible audience, encouraging participation and engagement with its artistic programme.

The Fruitmarket Gallery

The Fruitmarket Gallery, a converted Victorian fruit and vegetable market in the heart of Scotland’s capital has an international reputation for presenting major artists from abroad, and presenting the work of Scottish artists in an international context.

With an award-winning design and central location in the heart of Edinburgh, The Fruitmarket Gallery offers:

  • two levels of open-plan gallery space
  • a brasserie-style café
  • a leading contemporary culture bookshop

The Fruitmarket Gallery seeks to engage new and existing audiences through an exciting education, interpretation and publishing programme.

Recent exhibitions include new contemporary work by American artist Louise Bourgeois and the first UK solo exhibition for the 2004 Edinburgh Art Festival by painter collagist Fred Tomaselli.
