Dundee Contemporary Arts
Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA) is a centre for contemporary art and film which includes two galleries, a two-screen cinema, print studio, visual research centre, café-bar, shop, Atlantic Telecom Activity Room, and a Conference/Meeting Room.

The centre offers exhibitions from international and UK artists, independent films and classic movies, education and outreach programmes.
| Dundee Contemporary Arts also features activities for children, gallery talks, courses and classes in print disciplines, meet-the-artist events and music events. DCA is committed to engaging local communities through the development of education and outreach. |

Create an innovative and quality programme of exhibitions, involving artists from Scotland, the UK and around the world
Enable artists and school community groups to benefit from a unique range of printmaking facilities
To encourage critical debate and enhance the experience of visiting the centre through innovative approaches to interpretation and a wide programme of events
To broaden access to the centre through marketing and an extensive community and education programme |

DCA is featuring Our Surroundings, a major exhibition of new works by seven artists from Britain and abroad. The exhibition takes place within DCA’s regular exhibition spaces and in other locations in the city. DCA Galleries will house a range of works prompted by some extraordinary places and people in the city. |

Internally, 'Our Surroundings' features films by Jordan Baseman and Matt Stokes, plans, drawings and elements of a public sculpture by Mark Dion and works inspired by the unique Mills Observatory by Bridget Smith. |
Externally, the exhibit features a sculptural waterfall by Olafur Eliasson, text and sound by Susan Philipsz and an 'influential figure' that brings together visions for the future by Apolonija Šušteršič.
| 'Our Surroundings' runs from 14 May to 17 July 2005. A full and varied programme of events runs throughout ‘Our Surroundings’, including a range of talks, a series of organ recitals and a symposium during Architecture Week (20 – 24 June).
