Aurora
Aurora is a nomadic initiative that delivers events and exhibitions in venues across Edinburgh and beyond. Founded in February 2001, it is curated, co-ordinated and often contributed to by artist Ruth Beale.
The free events incorporate installations, music, performance and projections, offering a platform for young and emerging artists and unsigned bands. They have taken place in both temporary venues and permanent arts spaces, and frequently involve collaboration with other groups and networks.
As a project-based venture, Aurora also operates as a catalyst and front for curatorial projects. Five artists were chosen to present work on a stand in Extension at Glasgow Art Fair 2005.
In May, Aurora and Limousine Bull initiated a collaborative project between five pairs of artists, culminating in an exhibition at GeneratorProjects in Dundee.

A weekend of activities at Cell77’s project space included a presentation and short films from Galway-based artist group Enso, and new site-specific work from Ruth Beale.
Edinburgh’s Found Collective also gave a one-off sound performance called ‘Found Write Wrock’.
On the Sunday, Glasgow D.C. held the Edinburgh debut of their informal drawing club.
