Pittenweem Art Festival
5-13 August 2006
A picturesque fishing village with narrow wynds running down to the working harbour, Pittenweem’s unique atmosphere has attracted many artists over the years. Frequently shown in paintings, Pittenweem currently has about 30 artists resident in the village and more in the surrounding chain of small villages set along this lovely coastline, known as the East Neuk of Fife. The Arts Festival, in it's 24th year, always takes place in the first full week of August. The Festival hosts both well established artists and newcomers.

Other attractions in the area include several golf courses, with the “Old Course” at St Andrews. There is an extensive coastal path with easy access for shorter walks and a bird reserve on the Isle of May with boat trips running everyday.
| The Arts Festival was founded in 1982 and since then has grown into one of Scotland's most popular and unique art events. Each year 80 or so exhibitions are housed in ingenious exhibition spaces created from artists studios, houses, garages, courtyards and gardens.
| Over 25,000 visitors come to stroll around the village and meet the artists and many purchase paintings, sculpture and arts and crafts. |
