Music funding for individuals
Music funding for individuals Tune Up - Music Touring Youth music initiative (YMI)
= Fast-track for applications (accepted throughout the year).
Future Funding Opportunities
Please note that in 2009/10, we plan to restructure the range of funds available from the Music Department by introducing new funding schemes which will incorporate our current activity, but in a reconfigured format that will enable greater flexibility in how we make funds available to the sector. We will announce details of these new schemes in early 2009, and they will be implemented from our next application deadline in April 2009.

New Work |
This fund is aimed at both organisations and individuals. Its purpose is to support the creation of high quality and exciting music-led new work projects across all styles, that will have performances in Scotland, and will be seen by the widest possible audience.
Please note: Individual applicants (solo musicians/ composers/ artists/ producers) should use the application form for individuals. This also applies if you are part of a group of individuals who operate as a single unit under a collective name, e.g. band/ensemble, syndicate/collective, but you are not formed into a company or other entity with a constitution or memorandum and articles of association.
Maximum - £15,000 |
The deadline for this fund in the current financial year has now passed.
Information on funding opportunities in 2009/10 will be published here as soon as it is available. |
Individuals can also apply for funds for: Professional development. See funding information across artforms for more details.
Please note: The Scottish Arts Council will not normally fund productions through project funding that are programmed to appear at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival or Edinburgh International Festival only. Tours which include these festivals are eligible but the festival appearances must be part of a larger Scottish tour, the majority of performances must happen outside of the festivals.
For exceptions to this, please refer to individuals guidelines.
Our music touring programme Tune Up was established by the Scottish Arts Council in 2003 and provides funding to top musicians and artists to perform across Scotland.
Please visit the Tune Up website for the latest - or add your details to the Industry Mailing List for email updates.
