Application process streamlined at Scottish Arts Council
The Scottish Arts Council has pledged to provide a better service to artists and arts organisations by integrating and streamlining its application processes and reducing the number of Committees. The new structures will be buttressed by advice from independent experts which will inform decision-making.

New guide to governance for arts organisations
The Scottish Arts Council yesterday launched a new, updated edition of its best-selling handbook Care, Diligence and Skill, which helps board members of arts organisations -usually volunteers - understand their duties and responsibilities.

Gaelic Arts reach new heights
In a paper due to be presented to Council next week (Tuesday 28 February), the Scottish Arts Council reports an increased investment of 156% in Gaelic arts. This brings the Scottish Arts Council investment in Gaelic arts projects to £4 million over 8 years, with an additional £4.5 million towards building dedicated art centres.

£250,000 earmarked for development of Scottish arts
The Scottish Arts Council has announced grants totalling over £250,000 to a range of creative projects. Funding has come from the National Lottery Work Development Fund which helps arts organisations develop a range of new projects.

Artists chosen to represent Scotland in Venice

Scottish Arts Council welcomes the European Year of Disabled People
The Scottish Arts Council today stressed its commitment to the European Year of Disabled People by announcing a variety of activities throughout the coming year.
